Washington day 3 - Sarah

Today was the third day of the Washington trip. Today we visited a collection of smithsonian museums; starting with the museum of the American Indian. This museum featured artifacts and information about the lives of the First Nations. This ranged from beautiful painted pots, masks, sculptures and even tales written by aboriginals. Although we didn't have a lot of time to look at the exhibits a few of my favourite exhibits were the bronze sculptures situated on each floor. These sculptures featured a aboriginal family meeting with a American and a hunter aiming a bow. An interative quiz show exhibit was also fun. After this museum we visited the air and space museum, this is probably my favourite museum to ever visit. It featured the largest collection of air and space objects such as a huge rocket engine and lunar lander, some of my favourite exhibits included a model space center, which you could walk through and imagine the life of astronauts living in the space center. It was somewhat cramped. Next we had our lunch outside the weather was amazing. After we visited the much anticipated museum of natural history. The museums architecture was elegant. I started viewing an ocean exhibit, it contained the full size of a giant squid, it was huge! From that we went into a mamal exhibit starting with the origin of ourselves. The exhibit was memorable as it showed the process in evolution visually. Other exhibits I liked was th
Mineral area. After visiting this museum we went to the hair shorn modern art museum,
Was full of beautiful works of art.
-that was a small portion of our day, it was great!
