Day 2 Washington by Jacki

At 9:00 am we were ready on the bus for our day at the Holcaust Memorial Museum. We went through tons of security and then headed to a special elevator. The elevator was supposed to make us feel like we were in a cattle car. We were all packed in. I slowly went through the exibits with a small group of people and it was very meaningful. Going through the museum was an emotional experience for our whole class. We've been learning about the holocaust for several years at school and seeing the actual memorial was a hard. There was an exibit where we went through an actual cart. I had a wired feeling as I walked through the cart.

After lunch we went through the Daniels Story exibit. It really showed me how hard it was for Daniel to live.

We heard a survivor speak and it was very impotional. She went into detail about how she was hiding and never knew about what was happening in the outside world. Hearing a survivor speak made me think about my own family and what I would do if something every happened.

Later we had a class discussion and we told each other out thoughts on the museum. We were all open about our feelings and really shared how we felt.

At around 8:00 pm we went to see Shear Maddness. It was hilarious and we all enjoyed it!

So far this trip has been an amazing bonding experience for our whole class!
