Day 2 -Noa

Today was a crazy sad day.
We went to the Holocaust museum/memorial.
It was like a giant slap to the face to see all the horrors.
We saw films of the Jews after liberation in the camp and it was so hard to see.
I can't believe that none of the world noticed! It was awful to see.
The things that probably wanted to make me vomit the most was the propaganda and the train cart. They had an exact replica of the train cart the nazis deported the innocents in. It was so tiny and to think they actually fit at least a hundred people in it- unbelievable.

My thing with it was that we learned all of this in school and you don't actually take it in properly until you see it in person, it makes you want to cry.

I also went to light candles for all the lost lives in the memorial. That was the only allegedly happy thing there.

We listened to a survivor speak. This woman's story was so touching. She didn't understand the concept of freedom once she had been freed and liberated after being in hiding for literally her entire life. Just how she had to celebrate her own 2nd birthday in secret really makes you look over how you celebrated your own second birthday and compare everything.

We ate lunch outside and attempted to feed the birds, which epically failed.

We also saw an exhibit for the book we had read earlier in the year, Daniel's Story. (Thanks Ms. Shapiro.) The museum had designed it for kids which made it lighter and easier to take in.

Then we came back to the hotel ate dinner and we were off for the theatre! We saw one of the funniest plays ever! It was a play called Shear Madness, a murder mystery that takes place in a hair salon.  I couldn't stop laughing!

Well, it was a long day and I'm glad we did all that. Tomorrow we are seeing the smithsonian!

Bye!
